“Come over into Macedonia, and help us.”
Acts 16:9
Is there no church near you?
Then do what the saints have always done. Cry out to the Lord of the harvest. “Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest” (Matthew 9:38). If you and yours long to sit under the preaching of the gospel of God’s free and sovereign grace, and there is no faithful church within reach, tell us. We will pray with you, and we will seek a God-sent man to come, to preach Christ to you, and to pray about whether the Lord would raise up a church where you are.
When your plea reaches me, I will pray over it, and I will carry it, in confidence, to faithful pastors I know, and ask whether the Lord has set among their people a man who desires the office of a bishop and is fit for it, one He might send to preach Christ among you. “If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work” (1 Timothy 3:1).
This is not a form for a service. It is a plea laid before God and His people. Write it plainly, as you would speak it.
